The Madeira Wine Company owns some of the most important brands within the wine trade, including Blandy’s Madeira, Cossart Gordon, Miles Madeira, and its still wine brand Atlantis. The company is owned by the Blandy family, a family with over 210 years of experience in fine wine making. The family has played a leading role in the development of Madeira wine throughout its long history and members of the family continue to live in Madeira and work in the group, maintaining a tradition that goes back to 1811.
Located in the very center of Madeira's capital, Blandy's Wine Lodge has been the heart of the family's wine business for 7 generations. This historical building is home to an extensive wine collection, a family museum and more than 650 barrels and vats aging the finest of the family's wines.
The lodge features several tasting rooms and shops, ready to welcome visitors throughout the day. As well as guided tours and tutored wine tastings available upon prior reservation in Portuguese, English, German, French and Spanish languages.
Set within a beautiful old Quinta, this historic vineyard situated on the North Coast of Madeira was replanted by the Blandy family in 2014. Nestled in the traditional village of São Jorge which stretches from sea cliff up to the world heritage Laurissilva forest at the foot of the mountain.
